Description
Meet Rosalind, a Regency style fantasy princess. My little cousin wanted a princess portrait to decorate her wall, so I made this and she rather liked it.
For the dress, I was inspired by the bodice of this 1810 gown: www.uvm.edu/~hag/regency/eveni…. I chose different colours in the little one's favour.
This portrait of Rosamund Croker from 1827 was my hair reference: loveliteratureandlondon.files.…. Additionally, I decorated the locks with flowers to lighten up the style and add some girly 'sparkle'.
I took some steps during the creation process:
#1 The first loose lines, making avid use of my rubber.
#2 Clean-up via GIMP.
#3 Digital colouring via GIMP again.
#4 Papercutting the dress.
#5 Finishing up with self-adhesive pearls and shimmering paper flowers.
#6 Creating a background.
